First established in 1909 as Mukuntuweap National Monument and expanded and given its current designation in 1919, this magnificent 147,000 acre park is nestled along the western edge of the Colorado Plateau in the state of Utah. Its visitors are greeted with a wide variety of geological formations and wonders, almost 800 native species of plants, a rich diversity of wildlife including many rare or endangered species and an interesting human history.
